CRASH, the construction industry's charity, raised more than £15,400 at a golf day held to mark its 30th anniversary at Stock Brook Manor Golf Club in Billericay, Essex, on Thursday 8 October.

The charity said 17 teams of its Corporate Patrons and supporters played the full 18 holes before a post-game lunch, prize-giving, raffle and auction. Its pre-event listing had planned for a field of 100 golfers across 25 teams.

Keltbray was headline sponsor. CRASH also thanked Innova Care Concepts, Arcadis, Dulux, Taylor Wimpey, Nimble Media and Landway Construction Ltd for additional sponsorship.

Keltbray joined CRASH as a Corporate Patron in November 2025. At the time, Jamie Parkes, Head of Social Impact at Keltbray, said: "Keltbray is incredibly pleased to announce our partnership with CRASH and to become CRASH Patrons."

On the course

Ken Alborough took the Nearest the Pin prize, Ewan Schmidt was named best overall player and Nimble Media was best team, CRASH said. Players also had the chance to Beat the Pro and try Golf Darts supplied by Nimble Media.

Raffle and auction prizes included a £150 Ivy voucher and several golf days.

Vicky Binley of Nimble Media, Caroline Hudson of Keltbray and Vicki Stipetic of Taylor Wimpey volunteered their time to help the CRASH team run the day.

The anniversary year

The golf day is the latest in a series of events marking the charity's 30th year. CRASH said the milestone was also celebrated at its Annual Spring Reception in May at Angel Court in the City of London.

In July, CRASH was charity partner at the Construction News Awards on Thursday 9 July, which it said raised just over £10,000. Both Construction News and CRASH celebrated their 30th anniversaries in 2026, according to the charity.

Trisha Pickersgill, Chief Executive at CRASH, said of that event: "It was a privilege to celebrate alongside so many industry colleagues at this year's Construction News Awards."

What CRASH does

CRASH helps homelessness and hospice organisations with construction projects. It traces its origins to 4 October 1992, was founded by Tony Denison and says it has delivered more than £12m in total value of support since 1996. It expanded its work to include hospices in 2015.

The charity never fully funds a project. According to CRASH, grants are only considered where its Corporate Patrons contribute professional expertise or materials.

In its most recent impact figures, CRASH said it delivered £871,292 of support across 48 projects between April 2024 and March 2025, which it described as its most active year to date.

Type of support, 2024-25 Value
Gifted construction products and materials £335,877
Donated professional expertise £330,987
Grant funding £204,428

CRASH said it received a further £171,738 of support in 2024-25 through its Christmas Washbag Campaign, volunteering and media support.

The charity describes its mission as uniting the construction industry to create places that care.
