Construction industry charity CRASH has named law firm Beale & Co its Corporate Patron of the Month for October, after the firm contributed £22,076 to the charity between October 2025 and October 2026.

CRASH said the total combined the firm's annual patronage with money raised through the CRASH Christmas Appeal, the 30km for 30 Years Challenge, the annual Beale & Co Quiz Night, the CRASH Golf Day and The BIG March.

The charity helps homelessness and hospice organisations with their construction projects. According to its own figures, it supported 48 such projects during 2024-25 and has delivered over £12m in total value of support since 1996.

Nathan Modell, Partner at Beale & Co and CRASH Trustee, said: "This year has been extra special as we walked 36km across the Surrey Hills to celebrate the 30th anniversary of CRASH, raising over £3,200, and having a lot of fun in the process."

CRASH's announcement lists the fundraiser as the 30km for 30 Years Challenge, while its photo captions describe the walk as the Surrey 3 peaks in aid of the charity's 30th anniversary.

The partnership

CRASH said Beale & Co has been a Corporate Patron since 2018. Beale & Co's own May 2024 announcement of Modell's appointment to the charity's board said he had introduced the firm to CRASH five years earlier and it had been a patron since.

Beale & Co describes CRASH as its UK charity partner. The firm, founded in 1838, has over 120 lawyers across offices in London, Bristol, Glasgow, Dublin, Dubai and Toronto, according to its website.

In September 2023 the firm hosted a quiz with Cundall at which 21 construction industry teams raised £4,000 for CRASH. The November 2024 quiz drew 22 teams and raised £5,000, Beale & Co said.

September 2023 (with Cundall) 21 £4,000
November 2024 22 £5,000

In 2024 the firm's London and Bristol offices also took part in The BIG March, in which participants walk 10,000 steps a day throughout March.

Volunteers recognised

Mike Allen, Corporate Partnerships Manager at CRASH, said: "Their contribution goes far beyond financial support, with colleagues across the business embracing fundraising initiatives, volunteering at events and championing our work throughout the year."

He said the funds raised enable CRASH to support homelessness charities and hospices with their construction projects.

To recognise their volunteering, CRASH invited four Beale & Co staff, Klára Nagy, Savita McRae, Rebecca Lanyon and Nick Kenny, to Lloret's OFF-SITE 5, an evening marking five years of the construction industry coming together in support of CRASH and Dreams Come True.

About CRASH

CRASH traces its origins to 4 October 1992 and has delivered projects transforming hostels, day centres and refuges for people experiencing homelessness since 1996. It extended its remit to hospices in 2015.

The charity has a staff team of six and sources pro bono or discounted professional expertise through its Corporate Patrons, it said.

Modell joined the CRASH board of trustees in May 2024.
