Building Heroes is a charity that trains service leavers, veterans, reservists and military family members for second careers in construction, and also admits non-military learners to some courses. Its academies at centres across the UK deliver a construction multi-skills programme that results in a Level 1 City & Guilds diploma and a CSCS card, plus courses in groundworks and street works, retrofit assessment and welding, with employability sessions and introductions to a network of employers including housebuilders. Established in 2014, it is based at Lowfield Heath in West Sussex and holds a Queen's Award for Enterprise for promoting opportunity.
