The Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) represents contractors in building engineering services across the UK as their trade association, and its former name was the Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association. The member-owned body has operated for more than 120 years, offering technical standards, compliance support and government representation, while its skills and training arm, the BESA Academy, runs apprenticeships, short and online courses and an experienced worker programme. Group services include SKILLcard registration, a competent person scheme, the Vent Hygiene Register and the REFCOM F-Gas register, and offices are in Penrith and London.
